A Facilities Tour

What’s new in nursery ministry?…. Preschool children’s worship, learning and play centers, a family ministry library, and a welcoming and hospitality station, oh my!!!  I’m very excited about some of our latest programming additions and facility upgrades.  My prayer is that these changes will better equip our children and families to worship God and allow us to better serve our church family.  Here are some of the details.

Preschool Children’s Worship is here!!!  I’m very excited about the addition of this new program.  Last month, a special time of singing, scripture memory, bible study and puppets was inserted into our nursery programming during the 8:30 Sunday morning worship service.  This has been a great time for both the kids and our nursery ministry volunteers.  I look forward to seeing how this program blossoms and grows in the coming months as the roots of this program dig deeper into the culture of this church.  I think there are great things to come.

In addition to our Preschool Children’s Worship time, we have outfitted our nursery classrooms with learning and play centers that focus the attention of children on thinking, problem solving, creating, and conversation, through puzzles, lacing beads, play dough, blocks, dramatic play, and other manipulative.  We believe the structured play that these centers provide will enhance greatly every child’s experience in our nursery as they learn through exploration, trial-and-error, and experimentation.

In the foyer of the Creation Station you will notice the addition of a Family Ministry Library that is now open and growing.  You can find a quiet place to read along with the best and latest resources for personal edification and family discipleship.  This area will double as a great place for mom-to-mom groups, play dates, coffee breaks, and movie nights.

Stop by and enjoy a cup of coffee, a muffin, and let us know what you think.  I hope you find our nursery a welcoming and safe place for your kids.  The whole nursery ministry team looks forward to growing and serving more effectively in 2011.  To God be the Glory!
