Several of our programs are being rearranged in order to better meet the needs of our people. The pastors and staff have spent hours listening to you, brainstorming, and organizing a ministry schedule that I believe will serve our people well. Check out our Sunday and Wednesday night offerings this Fall.
There is a ton going on that you will want to be a part of this Fall. Let me address several of the adjustments that have been made to our weekly line-up.
What is Wednesday Night Worship?
Far too often we find ourselves worn down, frustrated, and struggling by mid-week (probably Monday morning). Wednesday nights are being designed to encourage and equip you for the rest of the week. We want to recharge your spiritual batteries. This body of believers needs to come together as a family for fellowship, community, and worship. We will eat together, sing together, and study God’s word together. I look forward to the bustle that will be created in God’s house as all the generations come together for worship and discipleship training at our mid-week gatherings.
Why are we switching Awana and Children’s Choir?
We want Wednesday nights to be about discipleship. Awana is a well designed discipleship program for children. The goals and objectives of the Awana program are a great compliment to what is taking place in our adult Wednesday night worship service. As you join together with your peers for fellowship, worship, and the study of God’s word, our children will be doing the same.
What is new with the church wide Family Dinner?
The menu! Betty has been working very hard to organize and create a line-up of new dishes that are going to tickle our taste buds this Fall. There will be healthy-choice and sugar-free options for those so inclined, as well as our old favorites for those like myself, who are less disciplined. This is going to be a wonderful time of church-wide fellowship. Plan to make it a part of your weekly dinner plans.
What will be happening on Sunday night?
We will gather back together at 6:00 p.m. for our Sunday night Prayer and Praise Service. This will be a pastor-led time of prayer, singing, testimony, and a short devotion. The children’s choir will meet and the student ministry will gather for discipleship groups. Look to Jason for more information related to the discipleship groups.
I’m praying you will be a part of the work God is doing at First Baptist Church this Fall. If you have any specific questions about Sunday mornings, Sunday nights, or Wednesday nights don’t hesitate to call or email.
